MIG Welding Wire

Daytona MIG carries only high quality welding wire. Using cheap wire in a welder is like using cheap gasoline in a classic car, it doesn't matter how great of a machine you have if it doesn't have good fuel to run on. Cheap/poor quality wire causes bird-nesting that will frustrate you and waste time and money. We carry many different types and sizes in stock and special order almost anything. The solid core steel wire we stock is E70-S6 which is a strong, common alloy. Stainless wire is primarily 316Hi-sil as well as 308 on request. The aluminum we stock is a series 5356 which is easy to feed and compatible with most weldable aluminums. Silicon Bronze is another type of MIG wire that can be used for "virtual brazing". It is also used for welding of galvanized steel. Core-Shield is the gasless, or flux-core type wire that is used without gas. It is especially useful for welding outdoors, overhead (or out-of-position) or on rusty, dirty or coated metals. It is not well-suited for welding sheet metal or "cluster" welds or many other automotive applications.

Wire Cleaners

These specially treated pads clip onto your machine just before the wire feeds into the torch. They clean the entire surface of the wire of light rust, dust, flaking and oils that can affect wire feed and weld quality. Use one pad for about every 10 lbs. of wire.
